As Ben brought up why Jesus loves us today, and the oh so famous song, Jesus Loves Me, it got me thinking about.....

How even the 20th or 30th time in a day when we sing this song, it still helps us. I watch twins that have special needs, and one of them will say a word or phrase of a song and then want me to sing the rest. Well, one day, she said the word Jesus, so I started singing it. I must confess that when I get tired of singing Jesus loves me, I start singing Jesus loves the little children. :)

I love to pray with kids when I put them to sleep. I've done it forever. When I was putting my cousins to bed a month or so ago, I asked one of them is she ever prays. She said no. Then, I asked her if she ever went to church, and she said no. When I asked why, she told me it was because she doesn't know very much. It saddens me that this excelling student in school (at age 7) doesn't like church because she doesn't feel like she can excel at church - especially since she doesn't know the answers to the different questions in class.

The other night, my niece told me that she was going to sleep with me. Well, she usually just says that so I will read her some stories. A few nights before, she wanted me to read from the Bible, so I suggested that. Yet, this night I decided to tell her stories from it so I could paraphrase it a little bit from the NKJV. First, I told her the story of the blind man that Jesus put mud on his eyes so he could see. At the end of the story, her eyes got big and wide and she said, "tell me more!". So I did... It's great to see when a child is just beginning to hunger God.

A few months ago, I was talking to a kid after a church service about faith. I mentioned to him that God said we can move mountains by a mustard seed of faith. He didn't believe me so I showed him the verse (I guess he wasn't listening good enough). After he read it, I could see the faith in his eyes grow, and he turned around and told the first mountain he saw to move.

It's reasons like some of these that we are called to be like the little children...

I really like this. :-) It is amazing to see how children seek God without fear...and we can learn so much from them!

I love your heart for kids.

I know it was something that caught my eye in India as well. Keep planting the seeds there and watch that they will grow.
