Okay, so I'm going to try to give a quick update of the past week:

I have been living onsite which has been really fun. Lots of times, they will come in and eat with me. It's also been really nice being able to provide them with food when it has the things they despise in it. No one ate breakfast this morning as it had green beans in it....so sick. Anywho, that's the way it goes sometimes.

I started teaching last Thursday for the jr. high at CdE. The classes have went well. Here, they understand my horrible spanish, so it's easier to teach them. It's definitely different playing a different role in their lives. Today, I taught at Grimac, the local high school here. I teach again in less than an hour, but I had one class today. I only knew one person in the class, Juli. The class didn't go that well. Let's just say that I felt like I was playing the teacher in Dangerous Minds. I had them all say their name, age, and 2 of their favorite things to do. One kid said, "My name is 'f*ck you". At that point, he went to the principal's office and talked to him. I will not stand for that. Anywho, I'm a little nervous about the other class today. Juli said that her class is like that all the time. I have a lot of work to do to earn their respect.

I have been working with Jesus on doing his homework. It takes a lot of babysitting and reminding... asking him when he wants to do it an then forcing him to do it. Yet, in the end he has been doing it. It's been good.

Mikey has started calling me mama... He also calls Adrian papa... He calls other people mama too, and at times, he will call me Ana, Hannah, mama, or even nana. He's so cute though and it's definitely going to be hard on him with me working 53 hours every week between my 3 jobs. :)

Crisel has been learning to read, and she actually knows a decent amount now. I am going to start doing baby books with her to get her practicing more.

I've also been really frustrated because all of Jesus's teachers think he's this horrible kid. Well, to be honest, he has to think you care to have your respect. I don't think he thinks any of his teachers like him. They don't see that he's trying and they can't believe that he is starting to try. Please pray that they will see that he's trying to change and that he'll do better in school. Well, that is it for now. I need to go and get ready for the next class I have to teach.

Rawk on! Sounds like you're getting along just fine.

Dangerous Minds was a good movie. Just be tough like she was and you'll do wonderful.

We will see you in a couple of weeks.

Wow... I am so happy that you are there and moved in. I am sure that it is hard for you and the kids to get used to you being in a different role, but I know it will be good for the kids to have someone else there. I can't wait until Ryan and I get in the mission field.

Keep at it.

Not sure how you are going to do all of that, but I definitely think that this will be good for you.

Also, you definitely need to lay down the law on the kids at first.

There is no other way to make it work.
