Last night at the chili friggin' cook off it was a community of mostly believers. It was awesome ~ it went totally better than I think anyone would have hoped. I was blown away... Sometimes God will surprise us in just the little things He does and how He can fit everyone together and draw people closer to Him. He is a very good God.

I had invited two people from work, and I think they both had a great time. It was good for Cammi to be here because she was able to be around Christians and she has been hurt because of church in the past. It was good for her to see a community of belivers. She also had an amazing conversation with Susie from the Agape House as they have a lot in common. She had lived in a group home during part of her teenage years. I hope that God will continue to draw her closer to Him and help her get over her fear and scars that she has from previous experiences. It was also good for Michael to be here because I don't think he's been around a group of Christians together for that long of a period of time. He lost all of his faith from actions that people who claimed to be part of the church had done. As an atheist, he was able to be apart of a community that wasn't scary or frightening. As Cammi said at work yesterday.... she thought it would be good for him to see a group of christians that all love each other, get along, and just have fun. I think that this was accomplished and I am so thankful for everyone that was here... no matter if you talked to them or not.

People have said, "Witnessing is with actions, and you sometimes use words."
I think that this is true as well, "Love can be seen and witnessed and does not have to have actual interaction to be known."

I am so thankful for our church and our community and how we can be welcoming and not overwhelming to new people. I am so thankful for all of you.....
