Deuteronomy 6:4-9
"Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!
You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.
These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart.
You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.
You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead.
You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates."

LORD, help me make You my life, and help me follow Your word.
Leviticus 5:1 "If a person sins because he does not speak up when he hears a public charge to testify regarding something he has seen or learned about, he will be held responsible."
Numbers 15:30-31 "But anyone who sins defiantly, whether native-born or alien, blasphemes the Lord, and that person must be cut off from his people. Because he has despised the Lord's word and broken His commands, that person must surely be cut off; his guilt remains on him."

1 Corinthians 5:11 "But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler - not even to eat with such a one.

I was wondering if anyone saw a connection between the OT passages and the NT passage. It almost looks like the 1 Cor. verse is the NT principle from the OT verses. It's interesting to me that it requires someone to testify even when they learn about it, not just when someone sees it. God's word is always good, it's not always easy to follow, yet when it is obeyed, the reward is great.
